Hi, I’m Esther and I’m an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker and Counsellor based in the Adelaide CBD. I offer a calm, compassionate space where you can seek support, clarity, and personal growth during challenging times.

I work collaboratively with you, taking the time to understand your unique experiences, needs, and goals. Our counselling work is tailored to you and grounded in evidence-based and relational approaches, supporting meaningful and lasting change.

Therapeutic Approaches

Depending on your needs and goals, counselling may incorporate:

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

  • Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT – accredited)

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

  • Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT)

  • An integrative approach using Inner Child work and Parts work

  • Person-Centred Therapy

  • Inner Child Work

  • Mindfulness and relaxation techniques

I’ve also trained in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Schema Therapy and draw on these approaches as part of my work with you.

As an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker, I am able to offer Medicare rebates for eligible clients with a Mental Health Treatment Plan and GP referral.

  • I work collaboratively with a group of like-minded mental health practitioners at Pivot Counselling and Training Services. From our centrally located rooms on Angas Street in Adelaide, we are dedicated to supporting individuals to create positive and lasting change in their mental health.

    With over 20 years’ experience as a Social Worker, I bring a depth of knowledge alongside a compassionate and grounded approach to my work. Much of my career has been spent working with families in foster care, as well as working in family reunification program supporting children, young people, and caregivers through complex and often challenging circumstances.

    I currently work as a Mental Health Clinician at Headspace, where I support young people and their families with their mental health and wellbeing. Alongside this role, I offer private counselling services at Pivot Counselling, working with adults who are seeking support, clarity, and personal growth.

  • Hourly session fees are as follows:

    • $100 (with a valid GP Mental Health Treatment Plan)


    • $170 (self-referred)

    Medicare Rebates

    As an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker, I am able to provide Medicare rebates through the Better Access Initiative (GP referral required)

  • To access a Mental Health Treatment Plan you will need to:

    • Make an appointment with your GP and discuss your mental health concerns.

    • Your GP can email the Mental Health Treatment Plan and Referral directly to me at
      ebucklercounselling@gmail.com

    • After your first six sessions, you will need to return to your GP for a review of your progress. Following this review, additional sessions may be approved if appropriate.
