Inner Child Work
Inner Child Work is a gentle, compassionate approach that helps you reconnect with the younger parts of yourself — the parts that learned to cope, protect, or stay small to feel safe. These early experiences often shape how you think and feel today, and meeting them with kindness can create deep healing.
What Is the Inner Child?
Your inner child holds early emotional experiences, needs, and beliefs. This can include unmet needs for safety or love, old fears, protective patterns, memories of overwhelm, and even suppressed playfulness or creativity. The work isn’t about dwelling on the past, but understanding how it still influences your present and offering yourself the support you once needed.
How We Work with the Inner Child
Sessions provide a safe, grounded space to explore these younger parts at your own pace.
Building Safety
We begin by helping you feel settled and supported, exploring current patterns or triggers and gently tracing them back to their roots.
Meeting the Inner Child
When you’re ready, we approach the younger part with curiosity. This may involve imagery, gentle dialogue, body‑based awareness, or noticing protective parts. There’s no right way - some people visualise a younger self, others connect with a feeling or memory.
Understanding Their Needs
We explore what this younger part needed — comfort, reassurance, boundaries, or simply to be heard — and how those unmet needs shaped current patterns.
Compassion and Reparenting
You learn to respond to your inner child with warmth and care, offering comfort, protection, boundaries, or space for emotions that once felt too big. Healing comes from giving yourself now what you needed then.
Integrating the Work
We look at practical ways to support your inner child day‑to‑day, such as self‑soothing, journaling, noticing triggers with compassion, and strengthening your adult self’s sense of safety.
What Inner Child Work Can Help With
This approach can support people experiencing low self‑worth, perfectionism, emotional overwhelm, stuck relationship patterns, difficulty expressing needs, or feeling disconnected from joy or creativity.
A Gentle, Collaborative Process
You never have to revisit anything before you’re ready. The work is guided by your pace and boundaries, and my role is to help you feel grounded as you reconnect with the parts of yourself that deserve care.
